Weekly Wishlist: Wooden Accessories on Etsy

1. Repeating Diamond Necklace: Bird of Virtue/Etsy; 2. Wood LP Case: Steidle Woodworking Company/Etsy; 3. Wood and Cork Glasses: Vision Wood Eyewear/Etsy; 4. Feminist Wooden Heart Brooch: Kate Rowland/Etsy; 5. Wood on Wood Clutch: RWOODB/Etsy.

We've been having a rainy, rainy week here in Seattle, and it's been making every plant I see look the most beautiful brilliant green. That, of course, is making want to run to the woods. But alas, I am a city girl with no car, and thus I shall lust over wooden accessories instead!

I'm hoping to volunteer at Urban Craft Uprising in a few weeks, and while I was looking through the vendors who will be at this summer's show I fell completely in love with Bird of Virtue's gorgeous wooden jewelry. I love this piece in particular with it's semi-honeycomb design and pretty metallic colors.

In other jewelry news, I'm totally obsessed with EVERYTHING in the Kate Rowland shop on Etsy. She makes adorably wooden jewelry that's inspired by all sorts of things near and dear to my heart. I love this feminist brooch and would be thrilled to wear it around like a heart on my sleeve.

These sunglasses by Vision Wood Eyewear are amazingly beautiful and completely hand made. They're one of those amazing products that will likely remain on my wishlist because, ya know, I wish I had enough money to buy them...

Can we talk about this amazing wood clutch by RWOODB for a minute? How do you make a clutch out of wood??? I have no idea, but I'm so glad RWOODB figured it out because it's stunning.

Last but not least, I'm head over heels in love with this wood LP case from Steidle Woodworking Company. The most nostalgic part of me pictures packing up some of my favorite LPs on a rainy day and heading to a friend's house for a day of lying on the floor listening records, drinking tea, and talking.

What are you guys wishing for this week?

Til next time!

Weekly Wishlist: Yellow and White Prints

1. Belt: Ruche; 2. Sweater: Ruche; 3. Shoes: Anthropologie; 4. Skirt: ModCloth; 5. Terrarium Necklace: Woodii shop on Etsy.

This week I'm falling in love with yellow and white prints. As per usual, summer hasn't hit Seattle quite yet, so I'm craving bright, sunny pieces. This striped sweater from Ruche is made of cotton so it would still be a great piece to wear on a sunny day, especially if paired with this adorable yellow and white polka dot wedges from Anthropologie! Admittedly they're a little higher than I would usually wear for walking up and down the hills in Seattle, but they're so cute I can't help but wish for them anyway!

When I wear bright colors, I usually end up pairing them with some neutral pieces like this adorable belt from Ruche and this super sweet fit and flare skirt from ModCloth.

My favorite thing on this whole list is this Terrarium Necklace from the Woodii shop on Etsy. It's filled with sand, pebbles, a pretty stone, and some beautiful moss. I love the idea of wearing a little terrarium all around town. Better yet, it's made by a local designer in Seattle! Love, love, love!

Weekly Wishlist: Cream, Blue, and Brown

1. Sweater: ModCloth; 2. Camera Bag/Purse: Jo Totes; 3. Shoes: Ele Handmade/Etsy; 4. Broach: Vintage/Etsy; 5. Belt: Anthropologie; 6. Skirt: Ruche.

This week I'm loving cream, light blue, and rich brown colors.

I'm absolutely in love with this camera bag/purse from Jo Totes. I recently got a legit camera (as in not my phone... yeesh.) and haven't been carrying it around as much as I would like to because I simply don't have a good way to tote it around. This bag would be the perfect solution because it's as adorable as it is functional!

I love the easiness of this skirt and think you could wear it with a billion different things so it would be really fun to accessorize and try pairing with different tops, like this sweater from ModCloth. I have a few different pieces of clothing that have peter pan collar detail and think it's really fun to wear a broach, like this cute little vintage bow broach, at the center.

Also, guys? I can't stop drooling over the Ele Handmade Etsy shop. These shoes are too dreamy!

Weekly Wishlist: Navy Blue and Gold

1. Skirt: Modcloth; 2. Bag: Modcloth; 3. Shirt: Anthropologie;  4. Necklace: Ruche; 5. Shoes: Ele Handmade on Etsy.

This week I'm really into navy blue and gold.

This skirt from ModCloth would be a great piece to have in your closet because you could dress it up or down super easily. For a casual look I love it with these dreamy flats from Ele Handmade and this super cute t-shirt from Anthropologie, but also think it would be great with a pair of brown heels and a crisp white blouse with some sweet details to make it a little fancier.

I've been loving bows lately and think this necklace would be a lovely accessory to add to the outfit. Also, between the cut-outs and gold sparkle background, I cannot get enough of this bag!

Weekly Wishlist

1. Jean Jacket: ModCloth; 2. Shoes: ModCloth; 3. Bangle: Etsy;  4. Belt: Anthropologie; 5. Dress: Anthropologie; 6. Purse: Etsy

This jacket is a super versatile piece that would go great with dresses and skirts since it hits just below the waist. I love the gold polka dots on this belt and think they could make even the most basic look super fun! You could even do a DIY like this one from Skunkboy Blog to make some shoes to match the belt! I've also got a thing for vintage tooled leather bags, and I'm head over heels for this one (it says "Betty" on the strap!).

Maybe it's because I've been listening to too much Patsy Cline lately, but this week I'm loving a casual look with a touch of a western feel.

Recipe Box

I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE cookbooks. I love them so much, that I own at least 20. This is not helped by the fact that I live super close to one of the best places in the world, The Book Larder, a community cookbook store that does fantastic classes and cookbook author events.

The point is, I love cookbooks! Which is to say I love food, recipes, and, of course, cooking! I also love organizing and decorating, which is why this little corner of my kitchen makes me swoon:

Rock and roll cookbook corner!
And things like this make me want to pull my hair out:

Annoying, unorganized, pile of recipes.
Seriously, I have this pile of recipes just sitting in one of my cupboards positively BEGGING to be organized! So what's been stopping me? Why haven't I organized it? Well, I gave it a half-hearted attempt a couple of months ago and put the pile of recipes in a plastic file box I had lying around after doing some reorganizing of my desk space. The problem? It's not even close to cute, and takes up way too much space.

So what is a girl to do? Look for cute recipe cards and recipe boxes, of course! They're the perfect solution for my problem because they're nice and compact, but also super stylish! And I'm not going to lie, I love any opportunity to bust out my typewriter or practice my handwriting, so I have no qualms about transferring recipes to cute little cards.

I spent some time looking online at cooking stores and home decorating stores, but could only find different variations of the same plain wooden box, like this one. I wanted something a little different, so I hit up Etsy and Anthropologie and found some cute combinations! Here are some of my favorites:

1. Citrus Floral Recipe Cards, 2. Vintage Metal Recipe Box, 3. Bright Floral Vintage Metal Recipe Box, 4. Vintage Watermelon Recipe Cards, 5. Spring Bouquet Recipe Cards, 6. Vintage Floral Recipe Box, 7. Vintage "Here's What's Cooking" Recipe Cards, 8. Vintage Painted Recipe Box.
Etsy has a lot of other great vintage recipe boxes and cute hand-made recipe cards so check it out! I love to mix and match, so I love these combinations because they get along with each other without being matchy-matchy. I'm pretty sure that number 3 and number 4 are going to come live in my kitchen!

Til next time!
