Last night my friend, Katie and I headed to Ballard to check out an event happening as part of the Warby Parker Class Trip. We had so much fun!
There was food, beer, a photobooth, and of course, a yellow school bus full of beautiful glasses frames! The bus itself was super crowded, so I didn't spend quite as much time perusing the frames as I would have liked, but the good news is that they'll be in Seattle until July 7th so I'll have plenty of time to check them out again!
Katie and I had a blast checking out the design of the Hilliard's building, trying on frames in the Warby Parker bus, and snapping pictures in the photobooth. It was a fantastic night!

Cardigan: ModCloth; Dress: Vintage/Similar; Belt: Anthropologie/Similar; Tights: Nordstrom; Shoes: Swedish Hasbeens
Tonight my friend Katie, of the blog Katie Marie V, and I went and checked out a party at Hilliard's in Ballard that was thrown as part of the Warby Parker Class Trip (more on that later!). First, we obviously had to have an outfit photo shoot! It was a bit of a chilly day, but I still wanted to wear something cute, so I wore lots of blues and tried to keep things springy.
I'm obsessed with this dress, with its gingham print, cute collar, and adorable bow tie. I love the way it looks with this navy blue cardigan from ModCloth, but it also looks adorable with no sweater at all, especially since I fixed up the ripped sleeves earlier in the week (and the belt. see how on this post!). I'm so glad I picked it up on a thrifting trip a couple of weeks ago.
I've also been living in these Swedish Hasbeens recently and love that they look just as cute with tights as they do without. With the exception of rainy days, I think I'll be wearing them all year round.
Katie and I had a lovely time at the party. Check back Thursday for some peeks at the evening!
Til next time!

P.S: Thanks to Katie for always taking the best pictures of me!
Yesterday was my friend Katie's birthday! Since I love gift giving, I decided I should whip something up, so I put together an embroidered pendant necklace for her.
I'm in love with honeycomb patterns right now and decided to choose reds since Katie is in obsessed with red right now! She loves it enough to feature the color on a recent post on her blog, Katie Marie V, which you can check out here.
If you are interested in putting together your own embroidered pendant, check out my DIY post here.
When I tried to make the hexagons with a ruler, i found it was pretty tough to make them even, so if you are interested in making one yourself, I would recommend investing in a template like this one.
I'm also in love with gift wrapping, but was strapped for time, so I rustled up a box from a votive candle, a doily, a little piece of cute paper, and some seam tape to get it all wrapped up. I also couldn't find my tape anywhere, so I improvised and used some glue dots! Gotta love the adorable things you find around around the house!
Katie loved her gift, and we all had a wonderful night eating awesome food and sipping on delicious cocktails! I was so glad to be a part of a celebration for such a wonderful lady.
Happy birthday, Katie!

I had a wonderful Saturday afternoon hanging out with my lovely friend, Katie. We scoped out some camera gear, which lead to Katie finding the lens she took all these pictures with (thanks Katie!), and then did some Mothers Day shopping, decided we wanted to try some cute projects with stamps, ate cupcakes, and had a little photo shoot in my very little yard.
I'm rocking my new favorite vintage dress scored at Lucky Vintage. It's got a pretty serious diner waitress feel, which I am really digging right now. I love collecting vintage pieces and since it can be hard to find my size, every piece I add to my closet feels extra special. I paired it with a cinched belt to give it a good fit at the waist, and some basic flats.
Katie is super cute in her look! Check out how she took this outfit from a cute, casual, daytime look to one meant for a night on the town over at her blog, Katie Marie V. I loved her daytime look, and am even more in love with her evening look (also super envious of her super glam hair and makeup!).
