Weekly Wishlist: A Cozy, Casual Winter Look

Hi guys! Today I'm sharing a wishlist for a cozy, casual winter look!

This whole list was inspired by these gorgeous boots, which were handmade by one of my lovely sponsors, Gipsy Dharma. Not only are these boots pretty as can be, but they're also supposed to be incredibly comfortable! I particularly love the color of this khaki beige pair since it goes with just about everything!

Because these boots are a bit of a statement in their own right, I love the idea of pairing them with a simple dress, like this pretty frock from Anthropologie. I can see myself totally living in this dress and styling it a billion different ways.

By now you may have noticed that belts are kind of my secret weapon when it comes to styling my outfits. A good belt can seriously make any outfit look put-together! I love this braided belt from Anthropologie and think the color and style really complement the Gipsy Dharma boots.

Of course, tights are key to any winter look when dresses are involved, and I'm dying to cozy up with these sweater tights from ModCloth. The color is awesome and they really do look super comfy!

Last, but certainly not least, a gorgeous gold arrowhead necklace from Moorea Seal ties together the whole look. I'm kind of completely in love with it.

If this whole outfit were to just magically appear in my closet, I'm prettttttttttty sure I'd live in it for the rest of winter.

What are you guys wishing for this week?

XOXO

Weekly Wishlist: Dreamy Home Goods

Hey guys! Since I've got updating my house on my mind, I decided to share a wishlist today for some real pretty home goods. Some of these are super reasonable and will likely make their way into my home shortly, whereas some of them are a litttttttle bit out of my price range and may just stay in the house of my dreams.

First, up, guys, I have a hall. It's kinda cool. I think it would be super fun to jazz up that hallway with this gorgeous hall runner from Anthropologie. My hall is decorated with embroidery so I think this pretty rug would look perfect in there! And hey, ya know, why not pair a fancy rug with embroidery pieces you spent less than $5 on at the thrift store. It's more fun that way, I think!

In other rug news, while I certainly don't need a rug for my living room, this fox rug from Anthropologie is too dreamy for words and I would positively die every time I saw it if it were in my house. Seriously. So. Damn. Pretty.

I'm also really antsy to switch out the curtains in my living room. The place came with these green monstrosities (they're actually not that bad) that collect cat hair like nobody's business and really darken up the room. I'd love to make the switch to a combination of pretty wood blinds, like these affordable ones from IKEA, and some pretty sheers. I actually already have a couple of sets of these sheers in my bedroom since my neighbor was nice enough to give them to me, and I'd love to put them up in the living room, too. They give things a nice airy feel and really brighten up and tie together the room.

Storage in my place, while certainly not nonexistent, is less available than I'd like. I love the idea of this wall organizer from Urban Outfitters and think it would be a dreamy way to store craft supplies like spools of thread and paint. I've got some decent wall space so it might be a good way to go!

Last, but not least, I'd love to get a pretty new bathmat and probably some matching towels. Some certain cats of mine have totally destroyed the ones I have and I'd love to replace them with something pretty. Admittedly, while this is the easiest and most practical thing I'd like to replace, I'll probably wait another year or so and see if the cats get a little less kitten-like by the time they reach 3 years old.

Anyway, that's what I'm wishing for this week! Is there anything you're after to liven up your living space?

Til next time!

My Christmas List!

Well guys, you may have picked up by now that I really love giving gifts, but let's be real, receiving gifts ain't too shabby either! So, today, I thought I'd share my Christmas list with you!

This year I'm wishing for some lovely basics to gussy up my closet and my kitchen.

On the kitchen side, I can't get enough of these latte bowls from Anthropologie. I have a few already, but I'd love to add to the set with this collection of pretty blues. I also find that I can never have enough little tiny bowls for my mise en place when I'm cooking, so I'm pretty head-over-heels for the mini version of the latte bowls. Too cute! I also love the super classic look of these Stanley Thermoses, and even though I maybe don't need them, I do really want them...

I'm also after a couple of cozy winter dresses like this darling green polka dot one from ModCloth and this classic grey wool sweater dress from Boden. I also mayyyyyyy have shrunk my favorite western-looking gingham shirt earlier this year and think thise adorable top from ModCloth would be a great replacement. And how cute would this skirt be with it? Love!

I'm also still looking for some new shoes to take me through winter, and LOVE these suede and leather combo booties and these olive, textured mini wedges, both from Anthropologie. Ok, fine, I know these aren't the most practical picks for rainy Seattle, but I have a devil-may-care attitude when it comes to shoe materials. Suede in the rain is totally fine, right? Right. (Come on guys, just go with it!)

Last on the list is another lovely pair of glasses from BonLook. I've been rocking the Bonnie and Clyde glasses in Mystic Blue quite a bit since I got them earlier this fall and would love to have a pair in this pretty cinnamon color to round out my glasses wardrobe.

Well, that's my list! What are you wishing for this year?

Til next time!

P.S. If you're still doing some Christmas shopping, ModCloth is offering 20% off on all gifts through the 15th! Be sure to stop by and check out some sweet deals!

Weekly Wishlist: A Darling Fall Outfit!

Darling Fall Outfit!

Darling Fall Outfit! by ladyfaceblog

Clockwise from top left:

Petal Down the Lane Flats in Chestnut: ModCloth
Call of the Styled Coat: ModCloth
Study Break on the Quad Top: ModCloth
Cover Your Basics Tights in Brown: ModCloth
Nest to Impress Necklace from ModCloth
Living the Dream Skirt: ModCloth

Hey guys!

Today I'm pleased to share a wishlist for a darling fall outfit made up of lovely pieces from ModCloth! When ModCloth stylist, Amy, emailed me asking me to participate in their Uniquely You campaign by putting together an outfit on Polyvore based on this Call of the Styled Coat, I was thrilled to participate. So, I looked through their website, drooled over everything (as usual!) and created this Polyvore with my picks! If I win this week's challenge, my outfit picks will be featured on the ModCloth Polyvore page, so be sure to check it out!

I have to say, I was particularly pleased to base this outfit around the amazing Call of the Styled Coat from ModCloth. I totally adore the cut and color of this pretty coat and can't get over the darling details like the ribbon trim and the buckles.

When choosing items to pair with it, I decided to think about pieces I would love to put together for an everyday fall look. I'm a sucker for plaid, particularly in the fall, so I went straight for this Study Break in the Quad top. I love that the colors pick up on the ones in the coat without being too matchy-matchy. I think this top would look great with jeans, but would be even better tucked into a simple, casual skirt like this Living the Dream skirt.

To bring the look together, some cozy tights are obviously in order, as are some cute flats. I love these Petal Down the Lane Flats in Chestnut since the embroidery picks up some of the detail from the ribbon on the coat, but the color and style makes them so super versatile.

And then last, but not least, this adorable Nest to Impress bird necklace brings a cute little something to the whole look and really ties all of the colors together!

All and all, it's a darling fall look that I would love to wear every day! Ya know, if it weren't a little weird to wear the same thing every day :)

Til next time!

Weekly Wishlist: Fall Footwear

Hey guys!

Happy Friday! Now, I don't know if we've talked about this before or not, but I go through shoes like crazy. Seriously, I've been wearing out shoes in no time since I got my first pair. This is not an exaggeration. I was walking by 9 months and legitimately wore out my first pair of baby shoes.

I live up a big hill and walk to work, so I end up walking a bit over a mile uphill and a bit over a mile downhill each day. On top of that, I use public transportation and walk to get around town, so for me, shoes need to be pretty practical. They also get a good work out.

To get to the point, I wore through most of my fall shoes last year, and have already just about destroyed a pair this year, so I've got shoes on my mind!

This fall, I'm dreaming of a couple of pairs of great booties like the ones pictured above. They're perfect for cold, drizzly Seattle days, and both of these would look great with either dresses and skirts or jeans. I also live in flats on the dryer, warmer (for fall) days, so I've been pretty seriously eyeing this pair from ModCloth, and just fell completely in love with these Seychelles flats. They come in multiple colors and I want every single one! The half inch wedge makes them super comfy and ultra practical.

Also, I live in Seattle. Usually the rain doesn't get to be more than a light drizzle, but every fall and winter we get some super rainy days. That means a Seattle girl has got to have a good pair of rain boots! I love these Hunter boots since they're super practical for wet days, but also sport some gorgeous plaid to keep them really fun and pretty.

Last but not least, a modest pair of heels. Yep. As the holidays approach, I do occasionally want a good pair of heels. I think these would look amazing with almost every fancy dress in my closet, particularly with that lovely color palette!

Do you guys have any favorites?

I hope you guys have a fantastic weekend!

Til next time!

Weekly Wishlist: Cozy Coats under $275!

Alright guys, time for some real talk: I haven't bought a new winter coat in 6 years. Even more real talk: I have two winter coats and the other one is 10 years old. 10 years old! I got that sucker when I was 16!

Now, to be fair I've picked up jackets in more recent years, but still. My winter coats are shot to shit. The linings are falling apart, I've sewn the buttons back on more times than I can count, and they've had the pills shaved off of them about a million times. What can I say? I love them!

But guys, this is it. This is going to be the year that I buy myself a new winter coat. And ya know what? It's a good year to do it! There are so many gorgeous coats around.

The coats shown above are some of my very favorites out right now. I tend to like coats made from gorgeous fabrics, that are rather feminine, and feature lovely details. These ones all fit the ticket there!

When it comes down to it though, when I buy a coat, I'm really looking for an investment piece. I want something that's not too trendy, will look great for quite a few seasons (as witnessed by my current two winter coats!), and will keep me cozy. With all of these coats being under $275 (and a lot of them being under $200!), I'd consider any of these a great investment for the winter!

Til next time!

Weekly Wishlist: Grey and Gold

Well, first things first, sorry for not posting yesterday! The week got away from me a bit between having plans (like going to see Neko Case, which was AMAZING), and falling asleep on the couch at like, 8pm. Oof. I also had the day off yesterday, but decided I reeeallllyyyyy needed a lazy morning, so there you have it. Onward!

Well, with the exception of yesterday when it was almost 80°F, things have cooled down here in Seattle, so I'm going through my closet and putting together all sorts of fun fall outfits. While I've got some great stuff for fall, I'm still dreaming of a few more cute fall outfits, like the one I put together above!

I've gone through a long stage of mostly buying dresses, but I love having the option to mix and match so I'm trying to bring some more separates into my wardrobe. Because of this, I'm really trying to flush out my skirt collection and I think that this sweet yellow sweater skirt from ModCloth would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe! Especially paired with these grey tights and these gorgeous grey booties from Anthropologie that I've been drooling over for weeks.

I have quite a few tops that would go well with the skirt, but would love to pair it with this sweatshirt from Two String Jane. All of the stuff in that store is just gorgeous so definitely check it out! The one pictured above is such a great, versatile weight and the hand silk-screened print is just lovely!

Also, I'm looking to add some more pretty jewelry to my collection and just love this bear necklace from It Must Be Nice to Be a Bird. So cute!

So that's my wishlist for the week! What are you wishing for?

Til next time!
