Sweets for Your Sweetheart (Or for Yourself!)

Well, for me, Valentine's day is all about the sweets. Always has been, always will be. With Valentine's Day on Friday, I really wanted to share some sort of delicious treat with you (I was dreaming of chocolate cupcakes with raspberry buttercream). Instead, I got sick and could barely get out of bed, let alone do any baking. Sheesh!

So this week, instead of my own cooking, I thought I'd share some recipes I've been collecting on my Pinterest board, that I think would be just perfect for Valentine's Day! Ok, ok, I may have thrown in my own Raspberry Brownie recipe for good measure, but mostly, these are dreamy treats that I've been pinning over the past few months.

Any of these would be perfect for Valentine's Day, Galentine's Day, or just any time you could use a sweet treat made with a little extra love.

Are you whipping up any treats for Valentine's Day?

Snow Day!

Well guys, something pretty glorious happened on Saturday night: it snowed!!!!! I know, for most of you snow is old news at this point, but this is the first major snowfall we've had in Seattle this year, so it was pretty exciting!

I've been holed up in bed all weekend with a nasty cold, but I worked up the strength to go for a little walk around my neighborhood on Sunday morning. I had my camera in tow, so I managed to snap a few photos, and was definitely happy to have done so. It was a really lovely morning wandering through my little neighborhood, feeling the snow crunch under my feet, watching kids and dogs running around with glee, and watching the birds flit from tree to tree.

When I got home, I went straight back to bed, but I loved being able to look out the window to see that pretty white snow all day.

Weekly Wishlist: A Cozy, Casual Winter Look

Hi guys! Today I'm sharing a wishlist for a cozy, casual winter look!

This whole list was inspired by these gorgeous boots, which were handmade by one of my lovely sponsors, Gipsy Dharma. Not only are these boots pretty as can be, but they're also supposed to be incredibly comfortable! I particularly love the color of this khaki beige pair since it goes with just about everything!

Because these boots are a bit of a statement in their own right, I love the idea of pairing them with a simple dress, like this pretty frock from Anthropologie. I can see myself totally living in this dress and styling it a billion different ways.

By now you may have noticed that belts are kind of my secret weapon when it comes to styling my outfits. A good belt can seriously make any outfit look put-together! I love this braided belt from Anthropologie and think the color and style really complement the Gipsy Dharma boots.

Of course, tights are key to any winter look when dresses are involved, and I'm dying to cozy up with these sweater tights from ModCloth. The color is awesome and they really do look super comfy!

Last, but certainly not least, a gorgeous gold arrowhead necklace from Moorea Seal ties together the whole look. I'm kind of completely in love with it.

If this whole outfit were to just magically appear in my closet, I'm prettttttttttty sure I'd live in it for the rest of winter.

What are you guys wishing for this week?

XOXO

Weekly Wardrobe: Sequins!!!!!

 Glasses: BonLook
Dress: Vintage/Similar
Belt: Vintage
Tights: Nordstrom
Shoes: J. Crew/Similar

Uh, guys? This weekend was AWESOME! Was it productive? No. Was it restful? No. But was it so much fun? YES!

Saturday night was my work's holiday party, and ya'll, it was amazing. We're so busy at the holidays that we choose to hold our holiday party after everything has calmed down, so there has been a lot of anticipation leading up to this event. And let me tell ya, the hype wasn't for nothing! We all got dressed up and headed down to our warehouse space for food, drinks, a secret speakeasy, a performance by the company band, and then a super fun dance party that went until the wee hours of the morning.

Now, if you weren't aware already, I have sort of a love affair with sequins and cannot get enough of them. I have a small collection of sequined dresses that I legitimately prize over nearly all of my other possessions. Since there aren't a ton of day-to-day opportunities to get all decked out in sparkles, I always make a point of wearing one of my sequined dresses to our holiday party.

This year, I chose one of my favorites, which is this little black number from the 60s. Not only is it sequined, but it also has a gorgeous beaded pattern, AND beaded tassels. Be still my sequin loving heart! I paired it up with a vintage lavender lace belt, my favorite polka dot tights, and some lavender flats. I also donned a dark purple sweater at the party so I could stay a bit warmer. Anyway, I had a total blast at the party, and I think my get-up helped that along!

Sunday was the Super Bowl, as I'm sure you all know, and while I don't always tune in, this year I was riding the wave of team spirit in Seattle and was sure I didn't want to miss it! I headed to a party with a friend of mine and proceeded to have a blast. The Seahawks totally killed it and the joy in the room when we realized they would win was palpable.

Following the game, I headed to the bus stop, and let me tell you, the people of Seattle were ECSTATIC. There were honking horns, cheers, and high fives all around. This continued on the bus ride home, making it, hands down, the most entertaining bus ride I've ever had.

All in all, it was a pretty killer weekend. So killer, that I think I'll be spending the next couple of days curling up with good movies after work and heading to bed real early.

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?

XOXO
