Uh, guys? This weekend was AWESOME! Was it productive? No. Was it restful? No. But was it so much fun? YES!
Saturday night was my work's holiday party, and ya'll, it was amazing. We're so busy at the holidays that we choose to hold our holiday party after everything has calmed down, so there has been a lot of anticipation leading up to this event. And let me tell ya, the hype wasn't for nothing! We all got dressed up and headed down to our warehouse space for food, drinks, a secret speakeasy, a performance by the company band, and then a super fun dance party that went until the wee hours of the morning.
Now, if you weren't aware already, I have sort of a love affair with sequins and cannot get enough of them. I have a small collection of sequined dresses that I legitimately prize over nearly all of my other possessions. Since there aren't a ton of day-to-day opportunities to get all decked out in sparkles, I always make a point of wearing one of my sequined dresses to our holiday party.
This year, I chose one of my favorites, which is this little black number from the 60s. Not only is it sequined, but it also has a gorgeous beaded pattern, AND beaded tassels. Be still my sequin loving heart! I paired it up with a vintage lavender lace belt, my favorite polka dot tights, and some lavender flats. I also donned a dark purple sweater at the party so I could stay a bit warmer. Anyway, I had a total blast at the party, and I think my get-up helped that along!
Sunday was the Super Bowl, as I'm sure you all know, and while I don't always tune in, this year I was riding the wave of team spirit in Seattle and was sure I didn't want to miss it! I headed to a party with a friend of mine and proceeded to have a blast. The Seahawks totally killed it and the joy in the room when we realized they would win was palpable.
Following the game, I headed to the bus stop, and let me tell you, the people of Seattle were ECSTATIC. There were honking horns, cheers, and high fives all around. This continued on the bus ride home, making it, hands down, the most entertaining bus ride I've ever had.
All in all, it was a pretty killer weekend. So killer, that I think I'll be spending the next couple of days curling up with good movies after work and heading to bed real early.
How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?
XOXO
