Well, I guess it's due time I took some photos with my trusty duck umbrella. This little guy travels around in my purse with me 90% of the year because, let's be honest, it rains a lot here. Despite all the rain, umbrellas are actually not very popular amongst Seattleites, but I would much rather be dry than seem cool so I go for it! In line with recent weather patterns, it was quite a rainy weekend, so my trusty duck umbrella definitely came in handy.
I didn't realize it until I looked at these photos, but my hair is almost back to its natural color! Well, that won't last long, because I finally scheduled a hair cut and color for a couple weeks out. It'll be really nice to get it done. It's been 6 months!
I've been overbooking myself recently, so I've been a pretty busy lady! Friday, I took a much needed night to myself: no blogging, no socializing, no obligations. It was pretty glorious. I think since I was sick for quite a few days recently I've been overcompensating by having a few too many social activities planned. I'd love to say that I'll be taking it a bit easier this week, but that will not be the case at all! Since it's my last week working at my current job, it's definitely a full roster.
Well, apart from being lazy and it being rainy this weekend, I had a lovely lunch with my parents on Saturday, treated myself to a little online shopping spree for some pretty pieces from Boden, spent time out and about with Katie on Sunday, and had a friend who needed some R&R come over for dinner Sunday evening. Overall, it was a good one, though I do wish I had managed to find some time to clean my house.
What did you guys get up to this weekend?
XOXO

Is that the Ballard Locks I see? :) I love photo's with umbrella's, and that shade of blue is lovely! I had a very lazy weekend that involved watching Captain Phillips - still need to catch up on the rest of the Oscar nominees!

It sure is! I love them, too, so I'm amazed I haven't thought to do it until now! Man, I'm so behind on my Oscar nominees, but will still be watching for sure. My friend and I have made a tradition of it, and Oscar Day is one of my favorite days of the year!
DeleteIsn't cleaning always the thing that gets 'forgotten' ? ;) Same for me this weekend. So glad you had a good one, dreaming of when it will turn green here again. It seems winter doesn't want to go away for good. Which in Kansas means the temp goes back and forth between mid 60's and below freezing through the week if not through a single day. One day last week it went from 65 degrees and a thunderstorm to sleet and snow. What????!!? Makes it hard to get dressed in the morning! Anyhow, your outfit is so fun. I love that it's really quite simple but looks so pulled together. So need a scarf like that! -Alexandra

Man, totally. I am doing laundry tonight because it's gotten to that point where you're like "Well, I could do laundry or buy new underwear!" Haha! That weather sounds crazy! Ours has been pretty weird, too. Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked my outfit!
Deleteyou look AMAZING. these are some of my favorite photos of you! i momentarily had this dress on my wishlist, but then i remembered that it's about to be hothothot here, so if i but a sweatshirt-like dress, i need a short-sleeve one. also, love the subtle primary colors going on here!

Aw shucks! Thanks, lady! That's probably a good call. It's getting to be a great time of year in Seattle for this weight of dress since it won't really got hot until July! I hope you can find a good short sleeved one!
DeleteMy weekend was spent with a cold and packing for our upcoming move! Love your style! I am surprised to say that I actually cleaned my house yesterday, while sick! I never am much of a cleaning person, but when I get a cold I feel so restless! I'm so horrible at resting when sick!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Jesi! You are a trooper cleaning when you're sick! When I'm sick I just hole up and whine. Good luck with the move!
DeleteI'm still totally in love with that dress. It's just such a perfect canvas for any kind of styling! I really love that scarf too!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just gotta take it easy and avoid everyone! I'm a real introvert, so I have to have a lot of time to myself or I feel stressed and totally bogged down! Hoping your last week of work goes well!
Elyse @ Cuddly as a Cactus
Why thank you! It's my new favorite for sure. I've worn it at least 5 times since I got it a week ago. I'm definitely hoping to get some more quiet time soon!
DeleteOoh, you're almost starting your new job then? That's very exciting!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress, it looks so nice and cheerful.
Have a nice week!

DeleteYou are so lovely! I adore your scarf. Can't wait to have some good rainy days next summer :)
ReplyDeleteAw shucks! Thank you so much, Indy! The rainy days can definitely be nice from time to time!
DeleteLoks nice and cozy :)
ReplyDeleteI was sick last week as well and I think I'm overcompensating as well haha It's easy to do after being cooped up in the house alone for multiple days. And of course had to treat myself to a a new book and magazine and bought some baby clothes for my soon to be little man.
Man, being sick will do that to ya, for sure! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better and treated yourself to some good stuff!
DeleteIf you lived in Saskatchewan like I do, this post would be called 'Snowy Days'. If only we had the rain instead!

Haha, I bet! Maybe we could trade for a while :)
DeleteHey Becca! I found your blog recently through the Washington bloggers button and absolutely love it! It's so great to see how other people in the state style themselves or spend the rainy time. I nominated you for a Liebster Award over on my blog because I think your just great, but there's no need to participate if you don't want to, just know I fancy your blog! <3 Rya http://www.ryapie.com/2014/02/the-liebster-award.html
ReplyDeleteHi Mariah! Thank you so much! That's so sweet of you. I'll stop by and check it out!
DeleteSounds like a relaxing weekend! I'm glad you were able to rest up after having such a busy week. It seems as though this time of year always makes people go a little crazy with commitments!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I've been shuffling my week around a bit to have some more time to myself. I'm for sure trying to have a low-key week next week since I'll be starting my new job. So much to do!
DeleteThat dress is so lovely! It looks fantastic with your scarf ^___^
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you, Lisa!
DeleteYay glad you got a break!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Juni!
DeleteLovely setting, the river looks so calming - even if it is raining! :) And I love the dress.

$600 SPRING Giveaway!
Haha, exactly! I always put it off until I realize that I only style my hair one way because it looks bad every other one.
DeleteI love that dress from Anthropologie!! It's so simple, and that is exactly why I think it looks so great! So versatile.
ReplyDelete{Teffy's Perks} X
Thank you! I'm totally in love with it and have worn it a ton since I picked it up. The cost per wear is going to be pennies on this one!
DeleteI really like how the scarf is like a "cherry on top" for your outfit!
ReplyDeleteI spent my entire weekend finishing up my watercolor for class. Finally done! Woo!
Having time to yourself is so nice. I hope you enjoy it to its fullest~ :D
Thanks, Danielle! That sounds like a wonderful way to spend a weekend.
DeleteYou look adorable and I love your hair. This dress looks super cozy and kudos to you for being so cute with an umbrella! I always carry one in my car too and people look at me like I'm crazy, but I'm always the only dry one? So, we win, right? Can't wait to see what you do with your hair and your Friday night sounds dreamy!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! We totally win! It'll be a couple weeks out, but I'll post pictures for sure once it's done.
DeleteHaha, I never find time to clean my house. It's very low on the totem pole of stuff to be done! But having a day doing nothing sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your dress! It looks so comfortable and warm, but also super cute! I can't wait to see your cut and color! Are you going back to darker hair again, or lighter, or something else?
That scarf is pretty awesome.

Man, cleaning is the worst. I'm going to try my hardest to get the whole place tidied up this weekend before I start my new job. Thanks, Kristina! I'm going back to the darker hair! Since it's just a glaze, this is the color it's faded to. It's getting back to being close to my natural color again, but I like it dark!
Deleteyou have the cutest style! and i really like your haircolor here. what are you dying it to?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Hilde! I'm just going back to having it a bit darker- more like the picture of my on my sidebar!
