Weekend Wardrobe: An Outfit for the Craft Show!

T-shirt: Anthropologie/Similar; Belt: DIY; Skirt: ModCloth/Similar; Shoes: J Crew

On Saturday Katie Marie V and I volunteered at Urban Craft Uprising! It was definitely fun to check out all the different vendors and get a chance to meet some cool, crafty people! I'll be sharing my purchases and favorite vendors later in the week, but for now, let's talk about outfits!

I had a couple of things to consider when getting dressed for the show: 1. There wouldn't be a secure place to leave a purse, so I wanted to be able to carry most of my stuff with me; 2. I'd be on my feet a good chunk of the day so I wanted to be comfy; and 3. It's a craft show, so obviously I wanted to look super cute and crafty!

I decided on this skirt from ModCloth because not only is it super cute, but it also has big pockets that snap closed! It was perfect for the show because I had room for my phone, my keys, my lip balm, my money, and my bus pass! Then, since I love mixing prints I added this cute T-shirt from Anthropologie that I've been wearing all the time this summer.

As if two prints weren't enough, I decided to throw on the Fabric Flower Belt I made last week (what better accessory for a craft show than one you made yourself?) and some matching yellow flats for comfy footwear. I was actually a little concerned when I got dressed that I had gone a little overboard on the print mixing, but decided I loved it and would rock it out. Later at the craft show, I overheard a couple girls talking about how much they loved my "dress" so I decided it was a definite success, especially since I stayed super comfy while volunteering!

Are you a fan of mixing prints? Have you had any big hits or misses?

Til next time!

  2. I love the flats. They really pop with the belt. Which, the belt, looks great! And mixing prints can be fun. It can sometimes look great. It's just a matter of taking a chance.
