A Day at the Fair!

Produce and hexagons??? My heart exploded.
So many things in jars!
Produce shaped like a county!
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Department of Agriculture ; )

So many pig puns!
My cute family! Please genetics, let me age as well as my parents have.
For my birthday on Tuesday, my family and I headed to the Evergreen State Fair! I know when you think about the fair, usually you think about rides and ridiculous fried food, but I headed to the fair with two main things in mind: Lumberjack competitions, and pig races. So fun!

In addition to those things, I got giddy checking out all the produce displays, was completely enamored with with the miniature plant displays, and gawked at all the canned goods.

We all had a great time roaming around, and each found something we were completely fascinated by. My mom kept declaring all of the things she would enter into the fair competitions next year, which was pretty hilarious since most of the things she wanted to enter were made years ago by other people (smocking done by my grandma, a diorama I made in the 5th grade, etc.).

By the time we left the fair we were all super worn out, but not too tired to enjoy a delicious dinner and some birthday cake together!

All in all it was a wonderful day at the fair, and I had a lovely birthday. Thank you to all of you for the sweet birthday wishes!

Til next time!

-Becca

  8. I love love LOVE the county fair! My cousins always have things entered there, usually in the art and sewing sections, so it's always fun to go and see what they did! I wish we had gotten to go this year, but I think the Puyallup is the only one we'll get to!
Ah, and happy late birthday! Going to the fair is the best way to spend a birthday!

    1. Thanks, Kristina! Ooh, I bet I saw some of their work! I spent a lot of time in the sewing section. I haven't been to the Puyallup fair in years. I hope you have a blast when you go! I'd love to check it out, but I'm not sure it'll happen this year.

    1. Oh my gosh! Ferret races???? I just learned today that a group of ferrets is called a business. A business of ferrets. How cool is that??? Also, thanks for the birthday wishes!

  19. Oh my! This looks like so much fun! Our fair is way smaller, it doesn't really have much events going on, you just mostly wander around, look at the animals and eat :-)

  20. Thanks, Marlen! Haha, I feel the same way a lot of the time. Friends and family members with cars come in very handy! If you're here next year and have car access, you should definitely go. The pig races alone are worth it!
