Weekly Wardrobe: Lazy Lazy Weekend

 Glasses: BonLook
Sweater: Forever 21
Necklace: c/o Periwinkle Nuthatch
Shoes: ModCloth
Hey guys!

Well, I gotta tell ya, I had lofty plans to share a sweet Halloween costume with you guys this week, but I had a biiiiiit of a change in plans.

One week ago, I came up with an AWESOME Halloween costume idea- I was going to be the Log Lady from Twin Peaks! It was going to be great. I managed to procure everything I needed for her outfit, but there was one sort of major issue. I couldn't find a log. I know, city girl problems. I looked high and low, poked through woodsy areas, asked friends, everything!

So Friday night after work, in a panic, I went to JoAnn's because my last resort was to sew the log out of fabric. Well, all of my errands took longer than expected, and I got home with about an hour to spare before I needed to head out for my Halloween plans. Guys, it just was not going to happen. So, I cut a piece of red felt into an hourglass shape, safety pinned it to a black dress, and was a black widow. It totally did the trick for the parties I went to over the weekend, but I didn't feel it was worthy of sharing here.

So instead, I'm sharing a cute lazy day outfit with you! I ended up staying up welllll past my bedtime both Friday and Saturday since I went to a couple of fun Halloween parties, so I was a real sleepy lady the rest of the weekend. When I did finally drag myself out of the house to run some quick errands, this is what I threw on!

I've been living in this cute fox sweater from Forever21 recently, and have also been loving styling my hair in a messy braid for a quick and easy hair style. I've also been trying to mix things up a bit and have been wearing jeans more regularly, which has been fun!

I know I claimed that last weekend I was really lazy and got nothing done, but then rattled off a list of things I did. Well, this weekend, I'm happy to report that I was lazy as lazy could be, and it was awesome! I accomplished nothing but having fun and relaxing!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun for Halloween?

Til next time!

    1. Aw shucks, you are too sweet, Lisa! I've been loving all of the piles of leaves around. I had the crunchiest walk home today and loved every minute of it! I'm hoping I can get it together to be the Log Lady next year. It would be so much fun! Glad to hear you also got to have some lazy time this weekend!

  3. i've been going back and forth about that fox sweater for a week now. it's SO DARN CUTE. and i love the sleeve length on you. my boyfriend was log lady for halloween the first year we were together and it was perfect. just in case you have another chance to do it, he just got a log from the grocery store where they were selling firewood. i guess i don't know if they do that in seattle? but it was great. a black widow sounds super hot though!

    1. Girl, just buy it. There's no way you'll regret it! I've worn it so many times this fall. Oh my gosh, I love that Dago was the Log Lady! Too funny! I tried to do that, but it was all chopped firewood, which wouldn't really do the trick. I'm going to try again next year for sure!

  6. I love the look of a messy braid, but I'm so bad with hairdos that it takes me forever just to get a braid to an acceptable level of messy. Looks really cute on you thought, especially with the great colour of the sweater!

    1. Thank you! I wish I could offer some tips, but this is just what my hair does if I try to braid it! I wish I could get a neat braid every once in a while. We'll have to trade hair sometime. Haha!

  9. Aw, sorry your costume didn't work out! But just the fact that you wanted to be the log lady is pretty awesome, if you ask me! You look so cute and comfy. I'm crazy jealous of that fox sweater!

...Also, I just saw the comment above me and I almost went on a rage. I wish whoever wrote that wasn't too afraid to put his/her real name so I bitch them out. I, for one, think these jeans look great on you :)

  10. Haha, it seems like this weekend was just a relaxed-outfit weekend for lots of bloggers! Myself included. You look so, so cute here! I am in love with that fox sweater. And did anyone ever tell you you have really pretty skin? Because you do.
We didn't do much this weekend. Mostly, we were lazy and ate too much junk food, which meant I woke up this morning and cried for no reason (yeah, junk food does that to me). Although to be fair, I really hate waking up at ALL, so y'know... haha! My poor husband.
I'm hoping to get some things done this week, though! Small things, like laundry, some makeup tutorials, maybe a DIY... we'll see how it goes.

    1. It totally was, and it was the best! Thanks, Kristina! You're going to make me blush with all of your sweet compliments!

Your weekend sounds awesome, other than the unfortunate aftermath! I don't have that happen when I eat food, but if I don't eat for too long, I'll spontaneously burst into tears for absolutely no reason. It's pretty ridiculous!

Good luck with everything this week!

    2. Oh and by the way, I think you look great in jeans, too! I was going to mention that, then forgot, then saw the comment somewhere about your jeans being too tight and just had to say I disagree. I think they look fine. I have the issue all the time where it looks like my jeans are tight because of that weird crease thing they do around the legs, but if I size up they basically fall off. Which, you know, is why I started wearing skirts and dresses constantly!

But anyway. You're a doll, and I think you look adorable.
Haha, and what IS it with food toying with our emotions so much?

Sounds like you had an awesome Halloween weekend! Curtis and I went to a party as robbers. We really looked like the robbers off of the Sims, and since that sounded more original, that's what we called ourselves, ha! We're cheap and it was easy to convince him of actually wearing it ;)

  19. You have the prettiest smile! And I had a sweater that I loved that much, too. I practically slept in the thing. It wasn't anything fancy either--just a grey sweater with a pink floral print. But it was like, the love of my life for six months.
