Raspberry Lemonade

Hi guys! Today I'm going to share another raspberry recipe, this time for raspberry lemonade!

But before we get to that, a little shameless self promotion!

If you haven't heard, Craftgawker and Whimseybox are holding a challenge right now! The submitted projects that receive the most "Favorites" on Craftgawker will have a chance to have their project turned into a DIY kit with Whimseybox! Super cool right? Well, yours truly has entered, so if you are feeling generous help a sister out by favoriting my String Art Project on Craftgawker!

Ok, shameless self promotion complete! Onto some delicious, tart, refreshing raspberry lemonade!

The raspberries I picked last Friday were holding on strong thanks to the vinegar wash I gave them when I got them home (more on that here), but it was time to use the rest up, so I decided to make this raspberry lemonade! Here's how to make it:

Raspberry Lemonade- Makes 1 large pitcher
Ingredients:

  • 2 cups raspberries
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (I used 5 medium lemons)
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup sugar, more or less to taste
  • 6 cups water (2 cups warm, 4 cups super cold)
  • Optional: extra raspberries, lemon slices, and sugar for garnish
1. Put your raspberries, honey, and about 3/4 cup of the sugar in your pitcher.
2. Use a wooden spoon (or a muddler if you've got one) to muddle together the sugar, raspberries, and honey. Muddle it all up real thorough-like!
3. Add your lemon juice and 2 cups of warm water and stir up the mixture. The warm water is helpful since the sugar dissolves into it faster. Taste and see if you need any additional sugar. I kept mine at 3/4 cups, but I like my lemonade on the tart side.
4. Add the 4 cups of cold water and stir it all up. Do one more taste test here as you can certainly still adjust the amount of sugar if necessary.
5. Optional: put a sugar rim on your glass (I dipped the rim into the raspberry lemonade, then in my leftover sugar)
6. Pour your lemonade and (optional) garnish with a lemon slice and some raspberries skewered onto a toothpick.
Voila! You're done! Now all you have to do is sit back, sip, and relax. If you've got a nice big porch to do it on, all the better!

Til next time!

    1. Oh no! If you aren't allergic to all citrus you could definitely try it with grapefruit or lime juice. Wouldn't be quite the same, but I bet it would still be delicious!

    1. I know, right? The honey definitely adds a nice little something. If you wanted to go heavier on the honey you could do a honey simple syrup and replace more of the sugar. I bet it would be tasty!
