Oh man, was this weekend ever typical for Seattle spring. Yes, it may look gloriously sunny in these photos, (and it was!), but just the day before it had been pouring rain. There was thunder and lightning and everything! Oh, spring weather.

Well, despite the pouring rain, the sunshine on Sunday sure made for a nice weekend! Now that it's starting to warm up a bit and we're having some dry days here and there, I've been busting out my favorite warmer weather pieces, like these dreamy Swedish Hasbeens. Even after practically living in these puppies last summer, I still can't get over the cute cut-outs on these shoes. So in love. I also finally ironed my favorite green skirt, so I decided to pair the two with a striped t-shirt and some black tights.

Now, you may not realize it, but I just about never wear black. I recently stated to Katie, that I was trying to branch out a bit by bringing some black into my wardrobe, and we had a good giggle about how wearing black is a daring fashion choice for me. I'm such a weirdo.

As far as the weekend goes, I spent Saturday doing a cooking experiment, which you'll be hearing about eventually, and watching Golden Girls. Hey, sometimes you gotta get your lazy on. Also, Golden Girls is kind of the best show ever, so no shame there!

Sunday I met up with Katie and Jeremy for brunch. We ate some ridiculously good food, gossiped, and generally had a blast. After brunch, we all watched a few episodes of the current season of RuPaul's Drag Race. Do you guys watch? If you are, who are your favorite queens this season? I'm dying over Darrien Lake, Adore, and Bianca. If you don't watch, you definitely should. It's too good! Katie had never seen it before, so Jeremy and I had fun filling her in on everything, and we collectively cackled away.

I should have done some serious cleaning, but I didn't manage to take care of much. I swear, one of these days I'll get all my cleaning done, but alas, there just were not enough hours in the weekend this week.

Did you guys get up to anything fun this weekend?

XOXO
Becca

  1. Awwww, so cute. Yeah the black tights and light sandals is pretty daring, me thinks, but you pull it off nicely. Also I like the last photo of you kicking up your foot, it looks like some kids during soccer practice in the background.

    1. Thank you, Marg! Ha! Yes, there totally was soccer practice going on in the background. I can't believe I didn't catch that!

  2. That belt! So good! I'm the same way about black--I only have a few pieces with any black at all, and I rarely wear them! But I think it looks lovely on you!

  7. Cute outfit! I'm kinda the opposite of you, in that I wear black constantly. All the time. If I don't actively concentrate on what I'm putting on, I will be head to toe in black. Guess it's just my inner emo-kid coming through ~___^ I really love that skirt though, and I've been looking for a stripey shirt recently too - it seems like such a good piece to have! ^___^

    1. I think most people are like that, which is why it's so funny that black is practically a daring choice for me. I hope you can find a good stripy shirt soon. Stripes are my favorite!

  8. Love this green skirt! And the tee is so sweet, fun that it has a lower line in the back. :) So glad you have had nice weather! Ours is on the fritz as usual... and will continue until it is constantly 90+ degrees daily. ;) I styled an outfit the other day that reminded me so much of your style. I will have to post it soon and see what you think :) -XO Alexandra

  9. This outfit is completely insanely perfect! Those shoes are also a dream! You paired everything together so nicely!
When I went out to tea with my friends the other day, we were joking about who would be who with the Golden Girls, and I asked out loud, "Who would be Blanche?" and we all giggled because Blanche.

    1. Aw shucks, thank you! Haha, yea, I don't know how many people would want to admit to being Blanche. I feel like I'd be Dorothy, myself.

  10. So funny you said that about black! I wore a black dress last weekend and I was saying that for some reason I have the hardest time feeling comfortable in black which is weird because it's most people's fave :) Glad I'm not alone! Those shoes are stalking me- I've seriously been eying a pair and considering the splurge and I swear they're popping up everywhere to tempt me, haha! Love this look- it's a great spring transition outfit.

    1. Isn't it funny? I'm glad I'm not the only one. I would totally recommend a pair. I mayyyyyyyyy have purchased 3 pairs of Swedish Hasbeens last summer and they are totally worth it- super comfy! Thanks, lady!
